I have really enjoyed my social media class, and this blog! I plan on fishing for the rest of my life, I am excited for all the opportunities I have to fish!

I have one main goal in Bass fishing this year, I want to win a tourney! I think I can do it if I draw a good partner and do my fair share of work!

I love jerkbaits, I wish i could slow down and use baits that I have, but neglect!

I really want to catch a 6lb bass this year, I am well over due!

I love Bass

Went this weekend, started at Quail and gave up by 10 am. Loaded up and went to Sand Hollow and slayed 21 with 6 over 3lb's!

Fishing in the Snow

Fished in the snow at Gunlock this week. Finished 5th place in the tourney with no help from me! Rough fishing day but i still had fun!

Rain/Snow

It is 70% chance of rain/snow for the tourney this weekend, that is not good news!!! Hopefully it clears up!

I love fishing, if you dont know that by know you are crazy!  But I love my wife and kids way more than fishing! We had a great Easter vacation and I loved spending time with them!

Yes I went fishing this weekend!

Went fishing this weekend with my brothers and Dad. We caught 18 fish, and I lost my bet with Greg. Spinner baits worked until 9 am, but after that swim baits were the key! We had fun, and the wind didn't start until 1pm. White in the morning, Green in the afternoon! The fish were in 15-20 feet. The water temp was 56 on most of the lake!

Cant Wait

Cant wait to go fishing this weekend, other than the wind is trying to ruin my life! I will give updates asap!

Yes I Went Fishing

I went fishing on Friday but i have been too busy to give results!  I went to Sand Hollow and caught 9 fish, all of the fish were caught on a white swimbait!  I even caught my first crappie.  Snad Hollow is not supposed to have crappie in it, but I think that water is shared between Quail and Hollow and this is how the crappie got there, It was way fun!

Any Day of Fishing is Better Than a Day at Work!

I went to Sand Hollow on Monday, It was 68 degrees when we left the lake! The water temp is about 48 degrees and rising. We caught most of our fish on a white swim bait. It was Great day to be on the lake and I enjoyed my time with my son, Dad, and brother Mark! SLOW retrieve is how all of the fish were caught! Even though it was pretty slow it is better than being at work! Went to St George afterwords for a great lunch!

Im Wishing I was Fishing!

I go to work everyday, I do my homework everyday, I go to church every Sunday! All I want to do is fish!  It must be in my blood because I know my Grandpa fished a lot when he was younger and my brother always loved fishing too!  It must be in my blood to love being on the water ( not in the water )!!!  I wish i was fishing right now and it's snowing!!!  It must be a disease!

I Want To Be Better!

I want to be a better fisherman, I want to be as good as my competition at the tournaments! I am mad at myself that I haven't ventured out and tried swim-baits as often as I should! I read articles, I talk to other fisherman and yet I stand still in the world of fishing! I want to be a better fisherman!

Theres Always Someone Bigger, Faster Stronger

I fished at Sand Hollow this weekend in a SUBA tournament. I am a good fisherman, there is always someone better!  White swim-bait seemed to be the ticket slow rolled in 30-40 ft of water, to bad I didn't learn that until after the tournament was over.  Rough experience, but a good lessen learned! i plan on fishing a couple of more tourneys this year!

I couldnt even catch a cold!

Went to Sand Hollow on Friday, it did not go well! We got on the water at 7:30 and did our best to find the cold stubborn bass, but there was not luck for us! I fish more than anyone that I know, and all I can say is that even good fisherman can have a bad day. Don't get frustrated when you have a bad day, just enjoy the time you have away from work!

Change Up!

Well it snowed too much for us to make it to Yankee and with the cold front we didn't want to try our luck at bass fishing, so we went to Otter Creek.  What a great change up! We caught 40 fish on the day and they were all good sized. White jig was the best for us, about a foot off the bottom.  Jigged it once or twice and then let it sit, during the pause you will get a hit but it will be really light. If you miss the fish just let it fall right back down and hold still and you will get another chance.  Ice is only 5-6 inches thick and there was some open spots, so if you go be careful!  Good Luck, I have to dedicate the rest of the spring to bass fishing!

Where To Go Fishing This Weekend?

I have a choice to make, to head south and go to Sand Hollow for Bass, OR to head north and go to Yankee Meadows to ice fish for Brook Trout.  The Ice fishing should be fun and we would have a chance to snowmobile in where most people wont have access. But Bass fishing is right around the corner and I need to get ready for that time of the year (Feb 18th SUBA).  I need some help deciding, if you have a suggestion I would love your suggestions???

Little Pond Big Results

I went to work at 4 am today because of the snow.  When I came home from work I decided to go to Parowan with my wife and try out a small pond about 5 miles up Parowan Canyon called the Fore bay. It is a small pond on the east side of the Hwy and it is next to the Yankee turn off.  I was only able to fish for a little over an hour and caught 9 fish  (2 brookies, 7 rainbows). All of the fish were caught on a white jig tipped with a night crawler.  The water is murky so I just let it fall to the bottom, took my jig up about a foot, and jigged it often. Fun trip and I will have to try it again soon!

Went to Yankee Meadows today.  The Ice is 8 inches think and soild.  It was easy to get up in 4 wheel drive but may become harder in the next couple of days.  Caught 26 fish total using a white or pink 1" curly tailed jig tipped with any kind of bait.
